If you are trying to create a better future for your life, it is important to know that the process of creation goes like this:
Feelings – Thoughts – Words – Actions.
1) How we feel affects what we think.
2) What we think impacts what we say.
3) What we say out loud determines our behaviors/actions.
4) Our actions/behaviors affect our lives; positively or negatively.
If you are making a resolution for 2014 or simply trying to achieve a particular goal in life be mindful of your thoughts. Your thoughts about yourself and your life are actually the seeds for your current situation and life experiences. If there is something in your life you wish to change, then you must begin first by changing your thoughts. In order to change anything, we must first become aware.
Meditation is one way to increase self-awareness; by getting in touch with our emotions and the undertones of our self-talk we become empowered to consciously change for the better.
Here is a VERY SHORT video that can be used repeatedly in an effort to get in touch with where you are; mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The practice of ongoing self-awareness is key to change, growth, and self-fulfillment. Be mindful to not judge any aspect of yourself as you deepen your awareness. Instead become the silent observer. Observation without judgement is the key to understanding and acceptance. Once you accept the parts of you which are in need of positive attention, you can begin to practice certain activities to disrupt those old limiting patterns.
Do this meditation every day this week; and next week I will explain how to interrupt negative self-talk patterns…Stay Tuned!!
